Itâ??s been one week and two days since my tonsillectomy. Losing your tonsils at 30 years old is a big deal. The pain aside, Iâ??ve had those things for thirty years. It was difficult for me to part with them. My tonsils and I had lots of good times to together. We shared tons of beers. I always had my mouth open on roller coasters so they could see the view. We shared many, many, many cigarettes. We shared lots and lots of food. And of course, a little tonsil hockey…
Anyway, the good news is I am on the road to recovery. One thing I feel I should mention is the surgery has also kept me away from cigarettes for over a week now and I think I can maintain. Smoking is bad habit but itâ??s hard to give up. People who smoke can agree that they get a lot of enjoyment from smoking. Iâ??m not sure if it is the oral fixation or the affects of the several cancer producing chemicals in cigarettes that make them so damn good. I admit I love to smoke cigarettes. I lived it up until now and I thought it might be a good idea to quit because I was beginning to develop what I call Smokers Laugh. If you are familiar with the cartoon character Muttley, you will completely understand the sound of Smokers Laugh.
That is all for now. Be kind, rewind.
