Video Games Can Make You Homeless

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

will...and-his-sunblock I was doing some web surfing and happened to stumble upon this article. For those of you not familiar with Rock Band, simply put, it is a video game that involves the services of one to four coordinated folks to play instruments by pressing buttons in sequence. As a result, it simulates a functional rock band. It is a rockin’ good time. Anyhow, read the article below:

First ‘Rock Band’-related eviction threat issued

If you’re going to have an all-night Rock Band session, make sure to invite your neighbors over for some of the fun. Or at least warn them before cranking it up. According to the Rock Band message boards, two tenants of an apartment complex in Oregon were issued a 10-day notice to stop rocking so hard or move out. Causational hypotheses on the message boards range from lame non-metal-loving neighbors, poor soundproofing in the ceiling, and good old-fashioned inconsideration. The image of the notice that appears on the message boards is very blurry, perhaps due to the amount of rock being pumped out of the photographer’s speakers as the photo was taken. One loophole the tenants may want to exploit: it looks like the notice says their lease runs from Sept. 1, 2007 until August 31, 2007. Unless they own a time machine, these contract terms are unrealistic to say the least. [Via Chip Chick.]

I have Smokers Laugh

Friday, November 16th, 2007

will...and-his-sunblock Itâ??s been one week and two days since my tonsillectomy. Losing your tonsils at 30 years old is a big deal. The pain aside, Iâ??ve had those things for thirty years. It was difficult for me to part with them. My tonsils and I had lots of good times to together. We shared tons of beers. I always had my mouth open on roller coasters so they could see the view. We shared many, many, many cigarettes. We shared lots and lots of food. And of course, a little tonsil hockey…

Anyway, the good news is I am on the road to recovery. One thing I feel I should mention is the surgery has also kept me away from cigarettes for over a week now and I think I can maintain. Smoking is bad habit but itâ??s hard to give up. People who smoke can agree that they get a lot of enjoyment from smoking. Iâ??m not sure if it is the oral fixation or the affects of the several cancer producing chemicals in cigarettes that make them so damn good. I admit I love to smoke cigarettes. I lived it up until now and I thought it might be a good idea to quit because I was beginning to develop what I call Smokers Laugh. If you are familiar with the cartoon character Muttley, you will completely understand the sound of Smokers Laugh.

That is all for now. Be kind, rewind.
